How we fund our projects

London Play Design is a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to harnessing the transformative power of play and community engagement. Our unique setup allows us to be agile and respond flexibly to local needs. At the core of our mission is a commitment to build stronger communities through multifaceted approaches to community development.

  • The local authority plays an essential role in our mission. While they offer financial support for maintenance, our collaborative efforts extend beyond, encompassing strategic initiatives that enhance community services.

  • London Play Design has forged a meaningful partnership with HM Probation Service, offering low-cost maintenance through our Community Payback Programme.

  • Corporations sponsor the essential resources to execute the project and assist us in its construction alongside their employees.

  • Our commitment to enhancing play environments is strengthened through partnerships with local charities and diverse funding sources. By accessing statutory funding, private enterprises, philanthropic organisations, and local charities, we secure the necessary financial support for our projects and promote collaborative efforts across sectors.

Allocation of Funding

Our decision-making process for fund allocation revolves around four key factors:

  • Thorough annual inspections guide our prioritization of addressing safety concerns, ensuring the protection of both people and property.

  • We strategically allocate resources based on the unique play strategies of each borough, investing in new structures or maintaining and renovating existing spaces.

  • Active community engagement is crucial. We allocate funds where the need is greatest

  • Recognizing the significance of external support, we actively capitalize on funding opportunities aligned with our mission, fostering growth and impact in community projects.
